About Painting4Purpose
Painting4Purpose raises funds through selling hand-painted greeting cards to then donate the proceeds to Heifer International, whose mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. Through Heifer, families receive life saving animals which they turn into food, nutrition, and income.
Our story
What is now Painting4Purpose began as a fun craft project when I was just in 3rd grade. I was creating hand-painted cards and my mom thought they were so beautiful that she offered to purchase my cards to send to her friends. I immediately said, “if you pay me for my cards, I would like to use the money to help kids in need”. Around the same time, my grandma gave me a picture book called “Beatrice’s Goat”, a story about a young girl, Beatrice, living in Uganda whose life was changed by the gift of a goat provided by the organization, Heifer International.
It was then that I decided that I would sell enough cards to raise $120, the amount needed to purchase a goat through Heifer and provide to a family in need. With the support of my school, teachers, family and friends I was able to sell enough cards to reach my goal and make a donation to Heifer. This became an annual holiday tradition, raising my goal with each passing year.
I now consistently raise approximately $2,000 each holiday season, which I donate to support Heifer’s women’s empowerment efforts. For girls around the world that are suffering from gender discrimination, these programs provide opportunities to go to school and reach their potential.
I appreciate how Heifer works to create self-sustaining communities that use the life-saving animals in which families in need can use the animal’s milk and by-products for nutrition as well as develop businesses to create income. Heifer works in 21 countries around the world to help communities improve the quality of their life and no longer live in hunger.
It has become a personal goal of mine to not only contribute to the cause of ending world hunger and empowering young girls, but also be a role model for my peers and inspire others to contribute to the community in a positive way. Please join me in this mission.

Every year, I work with a local artist to create a unique design and hand-paint each card. 100% of the proceeds raised goes directly to Heifer’s Women’s Empowerment Program.
